Nigerian Man In Diaspora Shares Shocking Relationship Ordeal Involving Alleged Manipulation, Paternity Fraud, And Abuse

A Nigerian man based in the United Kingdom, identified as Richard Balogun, has taken to social media to share a deeply personal and disturbing account of a relationship he says spiralled into emotional trauma, financial loss, and legal trouble.
According to Richard, the saga began after he met a woman online who presented herself as a devout Christian and the daughter of a high-ranking member of the Celestial Church. What started as a long-distance relationship soon progressed, with Richard claiming he sponsored multiple international trips, funded her lifestyle, and eventually proposed during a luxury getaway in Dubai.
He alleged that he spent millions of naira and thousands of pounds on visas, accommodation, gifts, family obligations, and wedding preparations. He further claimed the woman became pregnant during the relationship, only for him to later suspect, and test, that the child was not biologically his.
Richard alleged that requests for transparency were met with manipulation, shifting narratives, and family interference. He also claimed he was excluded from key medical decisions, denied access to hospital information, and later reported to authorities under allegations he insists were false.
The situation, he said, escalated to police involvement, arrest, bail restrictions, loss of employment, homelessness, and eventual hospitalisation due to mental and emotional breakdown.
In his emotional testimony, Richard stated that he decided to go public after remaining silent for months, saying his intention is to warn others, seek accountability, and expose what he believes is a pattern of deception and exploitation.
He concluded by stating that he is no longer afraid and is prepared to defend himself legally and spiritually, insisting that the truth will eventually come to light.
