Nigerian music producer Ozedikus has expressed deep frustration and heartbreak over the state of insecurity in the country, following reports of mass killings that have continued to surface with little official response.
In a strongly worded post shared online, the producer lamented what he described as Nigeria’s growing culture of indifference to violence and loss of lives. According to him, Nigerians have become so desensitized that news of 162 people allegedly massacred is now consumed calmly, as though it were ordinary information.
“We’ve been so desensitized in the country that 162 Nigerians were massacred and the government is silent and we’re just reading it calmly like it’s nothing,” Ozedikus wrote.
He went on to express emotional exhaustion and resignation, stating that he no longer sees the point in constantly speaking out. “I swear I’m done with this country. I don’t think I’ll be ranting about it anymore,” he added.
The producer’s post took an even more sobering turn as he reflected on the future, suggesting that the safest option for the next generation may be distance from the nation itself. “As a Nigerian, the best thing you can do for your unborn children is to make sure they’re not Nigerians,” he concluded.
