Anthony Joshua Pays Respects at Funeral of Late Friends Latz and Sina at London Central Mosque ️
British-Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua was among those who gathered at the London Central Mosque today to pay his final respects to his two close friends and team members, Sina Ghami and Abdul Latif “Latz” Ayodele, whose lives were tragically cut short in a car crash in Nigeria late last year.
The Janaza (funeral) prayer service took place this morning at the mosque on Park Road, where family, friends, and members of the global boxing community came together to honour the memory of the late strength and conditioning coach and personal trainer. Their bodies had been repatriated to the UK ahead of the service.
Sina and Latz, both integral parts of Joshua’s training team and close companions for years, died on December 29, 2025, when the SUV they were travelling in with Joshua along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway collided with a stationary truck. Joshua sustained minor injuries in the accident, while the two men lost their lives at the scene.
Videos and images from the London service showed a solemn atmosphere as attendees gathered to pray and reflect on the lives of the men who played significant roles behind the scenes of Joshua’s career. The funeral now allows family, friends, and supporters in the boxing world to come together in mourning and remembrance.
