IRAN LAUNCHES MISSILES AT US BASES IN THE MIDDLE EAST FOLLOWING AIRSTRIKES ON NUCLEAR FACILITIES
Tensions in the Middle East surged on Monday as Iran launched a series of missile attacks targeting U.S. military bases across Qatar, Iraq, Kuwait, and Bahrain, in what appears to be a direct retaliation for American airstrikes on key Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend.
The strikes reportedly followed U.S. military operations that targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan—escalating already heightened geopolitical frictions in the region.
In response, Qatar, which hosts the strategic Al Udeid Air Base—one of the largest U.S. military installations in the region—temporarily closed its airspace amid growing security threats. The move came as social media footage appeared to show missiles being intercepted in the skies over Doha.
The U.S. Embassy in Qatar has issued an advisory, urging American citizens to stay indoors and monitor official updates until further notice.
The Pentagon had earlier warned of potential Iranian retaliation following the targeted strikes on Tehran’s nuclear infrastructure. Monday’s events now mark a dangerous flashpoint in U.S.-Iran relations, with fears of broader regional instability mounting.
