Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov has revealed plans to bequeath his estimated $17 billion fortune to his 106 biological children — but with a surprising condition: they won’t receive a dime until the year 2055.
In a candid interview with French magazine Le Point on Thursday, the 40-year-old tech mogul said the 30-year delay is intentional, designed to ensure his children grow up independent and not reliant on wealth.
“I want them to live like normal people… to be able to create, not be dependent on a bank account,” Durov stated.
“I make no difference between my children — whether conceived naturally or through sperm donation, they all have equal rights.”
Durov disclosed that six of his children were conceived naturally with three different women, while the remaining 100+ were born through sperm donations made over the past 15 years across 12 countries.
According to Bloomberg and Forbes estimates, each child could receive between $131 million and $161 million by 2055 — a fortune that could make them among the wealthiest heirs globally.
This revelation comes amid legal challenges in France, where Durov was briefly detained in August 2024 at Bourget Airport, near Paris, following his arrival from Azerbaijan via private jet.
