HILDA DOKUBO QUESTIONS CALLS FOR ‘RECONCILIATION’ AMID BENUE ATTACKS: “WHO EXACTLY SHOULD THEY RECONCILE WITH?”

Amid renewed violence in Benue State, veteran actress and activist Hilda Dokubo has raised critical questions about the ongoing crisis and the government’s response.

Taking to Instagram, Dokubo expressed deep concern over the recent attacks and the vague calls for “reconciliation” often directed at the people of Benue.

“Reconcile with who?” she asked pointedly.
“The cattle? The herdsmen? The dead? The bereaved? The government? Who exactly are the people of Benue expected to reconcile with?”

Her comment follows the recent Presidential Stakeholders Meeting with President Bola Tinubu on June 18, where the Tor Tiv, His Royal Majesty James Ayatse, addressed decades of violence in the state. He debunked the narrative that the killings are mere herder-farmer clashes, describing them instead as strategic and sustained attacks aimed at land takeover.

Dokubo’s post has sparked conversation online, with many Nigerians echoing her frustration and demanding clearer action and justice for affected communities, rather than vague calls for peace.
