JAMB REGISTRAR IN TEARS AS HE APOLOGIZES FOR MASS UTME FAILURE, ORDERS RESIT FOR AFFECTED CANDIDATES 

In a highly emotional moment, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) broke down in tears while addressing the public over the recent widespread failure recorded in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). He extended heartfelt apologies to both candidates and their parents, acknowledging the emotional and psychological toll the situation has caused.

According to the Registrar, the mass failure was not a reflection of the candidates’ performance but rather a result of systemic failure at some examination centres. As a result, JAMB has identified 65 affected centres and announced that candidates from these locations will be required to retake the UTME.

Key Details:

• Resit Dates: The rescheduled examinations will take place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
• Locations: The resits will occur in Lagos and other designated centres across the South East.
• Clashing Timetables: Any candidate whose resit schedule conflicts with other commitments will have their exam rescheduled accordingly.

The Registrar assured the public that measures are being put in place to prevent such failures from happening in future examinations. He emphasized JAMB’s commitment to fairness, transparency, and delivering a credible examination process.
