OUTRAGE AS ANGRY PARENTS STORM JAMB OFFICE OVER LOW UTME SCORES
Tension flared at the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) headquarters as a group of aggrieved parents stormed the premises, protesting what they described as “unfairly low” scores awarded to their children in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The protesters, mostly parents of candidates who sat for the exam, expressed deep frustration, claiming that the unusually low grades have dashed their children’s hopes of securing university admission this academic year.
Chanting slogans and holding placards, the parents demanded an immediate review of the results, alleging that technical errors or manipulation may have contributed to the poor performance.
One of the protesting parents, Mrs. Evelyn Okeke, told journalists: “My son is a brilliant student who has always performed excellently. How did he score below 150 in JAMB? We demand answers!”
The protest comes amid a surge of complaints on social media, with several students also questioning the credibility of the released results.
As of the time of filing this report, JAMB officials have yet to release an official statement addressing the concerns. However, security personnel have been deployed to maintain order and prevent further escalation.
Many fear that the ongoing crisis could disrupt the already delicate admission process for the 2025/2026 academic session.
