NOLLYWOOD ACTRESS LIZZY GOLD CRITICIZES FATHER’S “ENTITLEMENT MENTALITY”

Popular Nollywood actress, Lizzy Gold, has publicly addressed a personal family issue, accusing her father of exhibiting what she termed an “entitlement mentality” after his underwhelming reaction to a generous Easter gift.

The actress, in a now-deleted Instagram video, narrated how a long-standing tradition of surprising her father with money took a disheartening turn this Easter. According to Lizzy, she had sent her father a significantly larger amount than usual — ten times her regular gift — expecting heartfelt prayers in return, a gesture she says has always motivated her to give more.

“Normally, I always send money to my father at night so he wakes up to the surprise and prays for me,” she explained. “This time, after he sent a message in the morning saying, ‘Baby how far na? Do Easter for you papa na,’ I transferred a huge amount by 2 a.m.”

However, to her disappointment, the only response she received was a terse “thanks,” with no accompanying prayers or words of appreciation.

“When I confronted him, he simply said, ‘I prayed for you in my heart,’” she recounted. “But I told him, ‘Daddy, I don’t pluck money from the trees. I work tirelessly for money. I enjoy the prayers. It gingers me to want to do more.’”

Lizzy’s emotional revelation sparked mixed reactions before the video was taken down, with some applauding her honesty and others questioning the public nature of the disclosure.
