It was a heartbreaking yet powerful moment as the sister of Tamilore Odunsi, a 23-year-old British-Nigerian nursing student, stepped forward to receive her late sibling’s graduation certificate—just one week after Tamilore was tragically murdered in Texas.

Tamilore, who was on the verge of completing her nursing degree, was fatally stabbed in her apartment allegedly by her roommate, 40-year-old Chester Lamar Grant. Authorities say the two had a disagreement over their pet cats, which escalated into violence. Grant had reportedly moved in only two months before the attack.

The emotional graduation ceremony, held in her honour, served as both a tribute to her academic achievement and a solemn reminder of a promising life cut short.
