Ebele Iyiegbu, wife of billionaire businessman Obi Cubana, has broken her silence amid the ongoing “next-of-kin” controversy involving their family.
The drama began after Chidi, Obi Cubana’s adopted son, reportedly claimed he is the rightful next of kin to the socialite. In what seemed like a subtle response, Obi Cubana took to Instagram to post a picture of his biological son, Alex, clearly stating that he is the legitimate next of kin.
Now, in a lengthy Instagram post, Ebele—fondly known as Lush Eby—addressed the issue without directly naming anyone. She expressed her dismay over how social media has become a platform where strangers confidently share fabricated stories about people they don’t even know personally.
“Only on social media do you encounter people sharing your life story as if they know you. Only here will you learn about your own history from strangers who’ve never even met you,” she wrote.
She also pointed out how people are quick to blame wives and mothers, not because of facts, but due to their own twisted perspectives and negativity.
Choosing grace over drama, Ebele stated that she remains unbothered and fully immersed in celebrating her husband’s milestone birthday.
“Anyway, I’m still soaking in the celebration of the #50for50 birthday party for Okpataozueora! Like I said before, the entire month of April is dedicated to you, babe,” she added.
She also thanked her event team for capturing moments from the party, revealing that she curated 50 unique Igbo titles to honor and describe Obi Cubana’s personality.
