PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS IDRIS OLORUNNIMBE AS UBEC BOARD CHAIRMAN 

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Idris Olorunnimbe as the chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) board. The announcement was made on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special adviser on information and strategy.

According to Onanuga, Olorunnimbe brings a wealth of experience in innovative leadership, along with a strong commitment to youth empowerment and education.

As the Group CEO of The Temple Company, founded in 2016, Olorunnimbe has spearheaded initiatives spanning education and entertainment. Until his recent appointment, Olajuwon served as the Director of Administration and HR at the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA).

He also sat on the board of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), where he chaired the stakeholder and governance committees, overseeing key employment and entrepreneurship programs.

Additionally, Rasaq Olajuwon, representing the South West, has been appointed as UBEC’s Deputy Executive Secretary (Technical), while Tunde Ajibulu, from the North Central region, will take on the role of Deputy Executive Secretary (Services).
