AMORIM ADMITS HE WON’T GET ARTETA’S TIME FOR MAN UNITED REBUILD

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has acknowledged that he won’t be afforded the same patience to rebuild the club as Mikel Arteta has had at Arsenal. Ahead of their Premier League showdown at Old Trafford on Sunday, Amorim contrasted his situation with Arteta’s, who has been given nearly five years to shape Arsenal despite early struggles.

Arteta, who took over at Arsenal in December 2019, guided the team to eighth and fifth-place finishes in his first two full seasons. Despite coming close to winning the Premier League in 2023 and 2024, he remains without a major trophy since lifting the FA Cup in 2020.

Amorim faces a similar rebuilding challenge at United but isn’t expecting the same level of patience.

“I will not have the time Arteta had,” Amorim admitted. “It’s a different club. The way Arteta handled his process is inspiring, but I don’t think I’ll get the same opportunity.”

Heading into Sunday’s clash, Arsenal sit 21 points ahead of United in the league table. Arteta also handed Amorim his first Premier League defeat in December with a 2-0 victory at the Emirates.
