KATE HENSHAW APPLAUDS SENATOR NATASHA AKPOTI AMIDST SENATE CLASH WITH AKPABIO
Veteran Nollywood actress and fitness icon Kate Henshaw has weighed in on the ongoing controversy between Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, standing firmly in support of the Kogi Central Senator.
Akpoti recently alleged that Akpabio was punishing her for rejecting his advances, a claim she made during an interview on Arise TV following their heated exchange in the Senate chambers weeks ago.
In a show of solidarity, Henshaw took to Instagram to celebrate Akpoti, sharing a striking photo of the Senator and showering her with praise. She commended Akpoti for challenging outdated societal norms that undermine women’s roles and contributions, emphasizing how women have historically been dismissed as weak or incapable of leadership.
Declaring Akpoti her “Woman Crush Wednesday (WCW),” Henshaw wrote:
“We forget so readily how far we have come. We forget our lineage, our history, our strength. We are told we are weak, spineless, and cannot think. We accept the new role foisted on us—the subtle submission imposed by religion, society, and tradition. They tell us we cannot govern, rule, or make our own decisions. They tell us to shut up and sit down. Women, like children, are to be seen, not heard. Do you not know that in nearly all species, the female is much more deadly than the male? We are the offspring of countless women warriors!”
