HOUSE AGENT LOSES CLIENT’S 500K RENT TO BETTING

A Nigerian real estate agent has ignited widespread criticism after revealing in a viral TikTok video that he misused ₦500,000 entrusted to him by a client for housing rental purposes. Instead of securing the apartment, he diverted the funds to gambling and lost the entire amount.
In the video, which has since gone viral, the agent openly shared his gambling habits, admitting that the money didn’t last a day in his possession. He even displayed his most recent betting slip, confirming that he continues to engage in gambling despite the financial and ethical implications of his actions.
“I do agent work. Somebody gave me ₦500K to rent an apartment. The money didn’t even last a day in my hands,” he confessed. He went on to explain how he took the money to a betting shop and lost it all within hours.
Shockingly, he revealed that he had already placed another bet on the morning of the video, stating, “Even this morning, I’ve booked again. I’ve already played a game today. See my ticket,” as he held up his betting slip for viewers to see.
The video quickly drew the attention of social media users, who flooded the comments section with expressions of anger and disbelief. Many condemned his actions as unprofessional and unethical, highlighting the breach of trust and the potential consequences for the client who had relied on him to secure housing.
