GOSPEL SINGER PAUL NWOKOCHA CONFIRMS END OF 2ND MARRIAGE
Renowned gospel singer Paul Nwokocha has announced the end of his second marriage to Goodness, revealing the reasons behind his decision to walk away from the widely celebrated union.
The veteran singer, who has been in the music industry for 40 years and boasts 66 albums, broke the news on his Facebook and YouTube pages, leaving fans and critics in shock.
In September 2023, Nwokocha, known for his candidness about his personal life, previously shared details about the collapse of his first marriage, which lasted two decades. At the time, he explained why he quickly remarried, saying, “I decided to marry Goodness just one month after my ex-wife left because the Holy Bible says, ‘Paul Nwokocha should not be alone.’ Marriage is not for better or worse but for better or better. I didn’t marry to endure but to enjoy. My ex-wife, Alice, stopped giving me food despite receiving monthly upkeep from me. I felt like an outcast in my own home.”
Now, in a viral video addressing the failure of his second marriage, the singer, who gained widespread recognition in Eastern Nigeria with his 2000 hit Nkwa Praise, made strong allegations against Goodness.
“Greetings to all my friends and well-wishers. My name remains Paul Nwokocha, a minister of the gospel. I have seen many people discussing my marital issues on social media, but let me be clear: If I marry today and discover that my wife is engaging in abominable acts before God and man, I will send her out of my house—without apology.”
He went on to make a shocking claim: “For those pitying her, let me ask: How would you feel if your wife was taking nude photos and videos and sending them to other men? How would you feel? I married a wife, not a whore. So, I owe nobody an apology for this decision. No matter how long we’ve been together, if I find out you are doing evil, you are leaving my house.”
The singer’s statements have sparked widespread reactions online, with some supporting his stance and others questioning the circumstances surrounding both his failed marriages.
