MAY EDOCHIE’S LEGAL COUNSEL PROVIDES UPDATE ON DIVORCE CASE WITH YUL EDOCHIE

Emeka Ugwuonye, the legal counsel to May Edochie, has shared an update regarding her ongoing divorce case with her estranged husband, actor Yul Edochie.

In a statement released on his Facebook page, Ugwuonye revealed that the case was scheduled for hearing on February 4. He noted that the court was expecting feedback from the Compulsory Conference, a mandatory process both parties were required to undergo.

Providing further insight, he explained that a Compulsory Conference—also known as a mandatory conference—is a key step in family law proceedings under Nigerian law. It requires divorcing spouses and their legal representatives to meet and attempt to resolve some, if not all, of the contested issues before the court.

During the hearing, both May and Yul informed the court that they were still in deliberations. As a result, the case has been adjourned until March.
