FG APPROVES ₦77,000 ALLOWANCE FOR NYSC MEMBERS
The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has announced that the Federal Government has approved an increase in corps members’ monthly allowance to ₦77,000, with payments set to begin in February 2025.
Speaking to 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina, Ahmed assured them that their welfare remains a top priority, emphasizing that no corps member will be posted to communities facing security threats.
He further explained that the revised allowance is already included in the 2025 Federal Government budget, and once approved, payments will commence.
“We will not send corps members to locations with security challenges. Wherever they are posted, they should be assured of their safety and well-being,” Ahmed stated.
“Since January has ended, the new allowance will take effect next month (February) once the budget is passed. Corps members will receive ₦77,000 instead of ₦33,000.”
Ahmed also urged corps members to reciprocate the government’s support by serving diligently in their assigned communities.
