19-Year-Old Teenager Stabs 35-year- Old Husband To Death Over Divorce

The Police in Adamawa State have arrested 19-year-old Rumasau Muhammed for allegedly stabbing her husband, Muhammed Adamu, to death after he refused her request to dissolve their marriage.According to the Police, the teenager’s parents forced her to marry the deceased on the 6th of August, 2021. Their marriage lasted for only three weeks before the unfortunate incident.

The suspect, a resident of Wuro Yanka Village, Shelleng Local Government Area of the State, was enraged that her husband remained adamant after several requests, so she took a knife and stabbed him in his stomach.

He fell unconscious and was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the suspect was apprehended by the Police in Shelleng Divisional Headquarters on Tuesday, following a report received from one Jophas Johnsley, a friend of the deceased.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Adamu Alhaji, has directed the immediate prosecution of the suspect.

He also advised members of the public to avoid compelling their subjects into early and forceful marriage
