How Abidemi Rufai was arrested for stealing ID to receive unemployment fund
Abidemi Rufai, an aide to Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state, was arrested in New York on Friday over allegations that he stole the identities or more than 100 people to receive unemployment benefit funds in Washington during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
He is also accused of similar crime in 10 other states in the U.S.
One of the victims who Rufai used their identities to claim unemployment payments said he wants his accomplices arrested and prosecuted.
