Lagos DSVA Reacts to Viral Assault Video, Says Efforts Ongoing to Reach Survivor

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has released an official statement in response to widespread public concern over a viral video in which a young woman narrated her alleged experience of sexual assault at her residence.
In the statement, the Agency confirmed that it is aware of the video circulating on social media and has activated immediate steps to reach the survivor in order to provide support, intervention, and determine her location. DSVA disclosed that its team has initiated contact through available channels and will continue efforts to establish safe communication with her.
The Agency also appealed to members of the public who may have credible information that can help locate the survivor to reach out via its official social media platforms through direct messages.
Reiterating the position of the Lagos State Government, DSVA emphasized its zero-tolerance stance against all forms of domestic and sexual violence, stressing that sexual assault is a crime and that every survivor deserves protection, care, support, and justice.
The Agency encouraged survivors to speak up, assuring the public that all reports are treated with strict confidentiality and urgency.
