Tiwa Savage Clarifies Comments On Being A Second Wife: “I’m Looking For Love”
Award-winning Nigerian singer Tiwatope Omolara Savage, popularly known as Tiwa Savage, has addressed the viral conversation surrounding her previous remarks about being open to the idea of becoming a second wife.
In interviews and media appearances, the 45-year-old singer explained that her comments were not a reflection of genuine intent, but rather an expression of frustration stemming from past romantic experiences. She reflected on her previous marriage, noting:
“I was a first wife, where did that get me? I got married as the only wife, but here we are. I’m tired of being heartbroken; maybe I’m getting it wrong. Maybe I should try being a second wife.”
Tiwa emphasized that the statement was made out of emotional exhaustion and clarified her actual stance:
“It’s not my choice, though. I don’t want to. I wish I could tell my truth, but I will be dragged. I don’t want to be, I’m looking for love. Let’s just leave it at that.”
The singer was previously married to music executive Tunji Balogun, popularly known as TBillz. The couple married in 2013 and share a son, but their marriage ended in 2018 amid allegations of infidelity and emotional challenges from both parties.
Tiwa’s clarification offers insight into her perspective, highlighting her desire to find genuine love and her effort to set the record straight amidst public speculation. The conversation also sheds light on the challenges faced by public figures when personal experiences are dissected by the media and fans.
