TEEN MUM ALLEGEDLY ST@BS HER NEWBORN IN ANAMBRA 

A 19-year-old mother and her newborn son are currently receiving medical treatment following a traumatic birth in Anambra State on Wednesday, May 22.

According to eyewitness reports, the teenager, who had concealed her pregnancy from her family, went into labour while alone at home. She reportedly delivered the baby unaided, but what followed has sparked outrage and conflicting accounts.

Residents say the young woman allegedly stabbed the newborn in the throat and abandoned him in a nearby gutter. A child who witnessed the act raised the alarm, prompting community members to intervene. They rescued the baby and traced the mother back to her home, where she was found bleeding heavily and in distress.

Both mother and child were rushed to the hospital for emergency care. The incident was shared on Facebook by a user, Chinenye Henrietta, who posted a video from the scene.

While some community members believe the stabbing was a deliberate attempt to harm the child, others claim it was an accident. They allege that the teenager may have injured herself and the baby while attempting to cut the placenta without proper knowledge or tools.

Authorities are yet to make any arrests as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.
