OUSTED SPEAKER OBASA TAKES OVER MERANDA’S OFFICE

The impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, arrived at the Assembly complex today, February 27, accompanied by a team of heavily armed security personnel.

This development occurred just hours after the security details of his successor, Meranda Mojisola, were abruptly withdrawn.

Obasa, who was removed from office last month, entered the Assembly complex with over 11 police officers and headed straight to the Speaker’s office. He ignored his colleagues, who were seen gathered in the Assembly’s garden discussing the ongoing crisis.

The sudden withdrawal of Meranda’s security aides has left both the Speaker and the legislative building exposed, raising concerns about the stability of the Assembly.
